Terms of Service

1. About Sakina

Sakina is a private, wali-based Muslim matrimonial service operated by Markaz Al Fawzaan. By creating an account or purchasing access you agree to these Terms and to our Refund Policy.

2. Nature of the service

Sakina is a digital service. Paid access is delivered instantly upon successful payment and consists of the ability to send interests, receive matches, and use messaging tools within the platform. There is no physical product or shipment.

3. Minimum age

You must be at least 18 years old AND have reached the age of marriage under the Sharīʿah; both conditions must be met. If either is not satisfied, you may not create an account or use the service. Accounts found in violation may be closed without refund.

4. Eligibility and conduct

You must be of Islamic marriageable age, unmarried or otherwise eligible under the Sharīʿah, and use the service in accordance with Islamic manners. Female profiles require a verified wali. Misrepresentation, harassment, or unlawful conduct may result in suspension without refund.

5. Recurring subscriptions

Paid access is offered as a recurring subscription (monthly, quarterly, or annual). By subscribing you authorize PayPal to charge you the plan price at each billing interval until you cancel. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period.

Cancellation is done inside your PayPal account: Settings → Payments → Manage automatic payments → Sakina Access → Cancel. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the current paid period.

6. All sales final — no refunds

Because access is a digital service delivered immediately upon payment, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds or partial refunds for any subscription payment, whether the initial payment or any renewal, and whether or not the service was used during that period. Cancelling a subscription does not entitle you to a refund of the current paid period.

7. Account suspension and closure

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or the platform's conduct rules. Suspension or closure does not create a right to refund. Data may be retained as required for legal, security, and dispute-resolution purposes.

8. Privacy and content

Walis can view conversations involving the applicant(s) under their guardianship. Conversations on Sakina are never unsupervised.

9. Third-party services

Operating Sakina relies on a small set of third-party providers: PayPal (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), Supabase (data hosting, EU / Paris region), and optionally Telegram (community updates for content you choose to publish publicly). 10. Disclaimers

Sakina is a facilitation service; we do not guarantee any specific match, outcome, or marriage. The service is provided "as is" without warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding a claim.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Mauritius, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mauritius.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a competent court, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

13. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sakina regarding your use of the service and supersede any prior agreements or communications on the subject.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
